Spike Wademan is having a solo exhibition at the 
OMAKA Aviation & Heritage Centre in Blenheim, New Zealand (you can find this on line).  He is setting up what he's called my 'BOYS 
OWN' exhibition of Aviation & MARINE ART. Spike also says:
"I have been working all year on these oil paintings . . . . about 7 
new large paintings and several smaller limited edition prints. The 
opening is Jan 24, 2009 and the exhibition runs till April 13 (Easter 
Monday)"

Mike Mazer was recently awarded the Shirk Studios Cash
Award from the San Diego Watercolor Society's 28th
International Exhibition. Mike was included in the ISMP
International Waters Exhibit at the Ventura County
Maritime Museum, Oxnard, CA; Keystone National 2008,
Mechanicsburg, PA; Impressions of New England,
Bennington Center for the Arts, VT; Montana Watercolor
Society's Watermedia 2008, Bigfork, MT; Paint America,
Paint the Parks Top 100, 2008; Mississippi Watercolor
Society's Grand National Exhibition, Mississippi Museum of
Art, Jackson, MS; Kentucky Watercolor Society's 31st
Aqueous USA, Louisville, KY and was chosen for their traveling
show; Pittsburgh Watercolor Society's Aqueous Open,
PA; North East Watercolor Society's 32nd International
Exhibit, Kent, CT; 34th National Watermedia Oklahoma,
Oklahoma City, OK; Philadelphia Watercolor Society's
108th International, West Chester, PA. He will be with the
International Guild of Realism in their winter
juried show at the Weatherburn Gallery in Naples, FL. Two
of Mike's paintings currently in the U.S. Coast Guard's permanent
collection, have been chosen for an exhibition at the
Maritime Museum in Vlissingen, Holland as part of a celebration
of the 400th Anniversary of Henry Hudson's
European discovery of New York. Mike is also having a
one-man show of his marine paintings, sponsored by the
Bank of America at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis,
Mass from March 21-May 10, 2009.

Phyllis Solcyk's painting "Our Homeland Defenders" has been selected by the Salmagundi Club's Excellence Committie to be included in the United States Coast Guard's Permanent Art Collection. Phyllis will be presented with a commendation from the U.S. Coast Guard at Salmagundi's Award Ceremony, June 25th.

Louis Gadal was accepted into the American Watercolor Societies 142nd Annual and his piece was included in their traveling show.he also had a piece selected into the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, where he received The Elsie Ject-Key Memorial Award. there is also a piece in Mystics upcoming Modern Marine Masters and he has four pieces that have been selected into this years Coast Guard Art Program.
